On CS1.6 & CS:CZ, I get a nice 100FPS, and I was wondering, if I set my fps_max to a bigger number (than the current 101), will this have any affects or anything on gameplay? At the moment I have fps_max 1337, and intend to get my FPS higher than the current 100.
Thanks in advance.

*EDIT: My current FPS is now 500.

this will only make your gameplay better if your computer can give out more than 100 fps.
it will do no harm.

You are wrong. Higher fps is recommended only when you are playing surf maps (100-131 fps).

Take a closer look at the text I have quoted in my last post.

I posted link to that thread to show that this info is not just my pure imagination like in your case.

There's like no point in increasing fps, since the human eye can't tell the difference in anything 60+ fps.

I ReRead it and all it talks about is mouses percision is decreased when you put a fps higher than 100 but if you change your cmdrate and your fps you will get better percision at a higher fps.
Plus higher FPS Gives you a faster image so you can track your opponents at a faster speed...
And That whole Quote that Danni gave all still relates back to the ex_interp rates so Yea ..

Higher fps = more accurate gameplay
Lower fps = less accurate gameplay

100 fps fixed = normal recoil, normal pain shock, normal jump slowdown etc...

101< fps = high/normal/none recoil dependnig on system, lag and latency, more pain shock (you will be stunned for a longer time when shot at), more jump slowdown (this means it is not recomanded for kz or bhop)

30> fps = high/ultrahigh/normal recoil (depends ), low/normal painshock, relatively lower jump slowdown...

I use always a fixed 60fps because It works perfectly, all functions are equal

PS: All of these things were tested
PS#2: m4a1, yes it can, If I play with 100 fps an hour and then switch to 60 it seems to work slower We can say the human eye has 100fps because I can't tell the diference betwen 100 and 101< fps only that I know that the fps is that high and i can see the effects (pain shock and all that) anyways, I have a bad eyes (actually the left is ruined and the right has to be a little better to make the performance of two eyes), I can see in reality with like 30fps

http://amo.net/NT/02-21-01FPS.html

For those who doesn't wanna read:
- The human eye has been successfully been able to see a flashing image at the rate of 220 fps.
- The human eye does not have any proven limit at all.
- The human eye can't be measured in fps since it doesn't draw frames like a display does.

And you don't want X fps for cosmetic reasons, you want it for stability. ( Unless it's lower than, for example, 50. )

Looks like some people don't have an obvious line in between real life and online life o.O
