okay last question for FAST DL!
Do i have to pay money, i am using DEDICATED SERVER which came free from steam toolz, should i pay anymoney, is it possible to have fast dl on deedicated server.
Please someone give me a rite answer and please someone give me a URL LINK direct to a hosttt that is FREE is it possible.
Please tell me the exact steps. Most appreciate who can find me a FREE HOSTER and tell me the exact informatiionn

fast DL for things people have to precache from your server? if u are using dedicated it goes as fast as the slowest DL rate of the publisher of the server (you) and the downloader (player)

He's talking about using the sv_downloadurl option for servers.

sv_downloadurl downloads content to the client via http protocol and does not impact the game server at all.

In order to accomplish this, you must use a webserver.

In the server.cfg, there is the option of "sv_downloadurl" in which it points to your webserver hosting the files.

An example sv_downloadurl line looks like this....sv_downloadurl "http://www.mywebhost.com/czero/".

When the server is using custom content and the client doesnt have it and sv_downloadurl is active, the client will be disconnected from the actual game server and reconnected to the http host where the files are stored.

The client will automatically connect to the address "http://www.mywebhost.com/czero/" and then proceed to grab the needed files as instructed by the game server out of that web directory, not from the game server.

So download speeds are in fact faster because it is not relying on the game server/client rate relationship.

When the client is done downloading all custom content from the webhost, the client is then reconnected back to the game server.

Thanks, from all of ur posts i found that i cannot have fast DL on my dedicated server with no pay of chanrge, my lasttt question is, is it possible that someone who has a game server add stuff and give me a link that i can use it, with no pay of charge not like that guy who asked 20$. uu dont have to pay for me, letting me to use urs beside u is very nice of u thats all.
