Is there a tutorial I can read that will explain the proper way to use write_byte, write_short, write_long, write_coord, ect.?

Well, i think there aint any proper tutorial, but i can tell ya how to get all the needed info for em Search plugins for some plugin called Message Logging
Then, amx_mslog start in console and when you trigger any message, it prints the shorts and stuff into console ^^
