Creating Icons

Just wondering if anybody here knew how to create icons for window's applications, I've been curious about this for a while now

Google it...I'm serious there are programs for it. Search IconMaker or something similar

Well since I can't down load programs for it, since i use a public computer, I was wondering if anybody knew how to do it "manualy".

You can always set images as icons.. so I guess if you want to make an icon but not download a program.. draw one in ms paint and set it to whatever you want.

paint cannot save .ico types

I just made this with paint.

Just save as bmp named "*.ico"
didn't work with jpg/gif/tif/png

first of all: BMP != ICO

if using photoshop:

there is a free plugin which saves to *.ICO
