Hey guys I got a problem . First a opened a webhost for file uploading at dropbox and I created a folder cstrike than added all files that client needs to acces server like models/ sound/misc etc . I copied the link of dropbox and added on server.cfg sv_downloadurl "http://www.dropbox.com/sh/fec0xc14nznerf7/LhOC3eDujr"

sv_allowdownload "1"
sv_allowupload "1"

After this I restarted my server and deleted my files just to test the download speed and is really awful and very very slow .
I tried multifastdl but even that is not working .

Can you guys give me a hand ? Thanks

Dropbox doesn't work as FastDL server anymore, but it used to. Your client can't connect and download the files from Dropbox and it is forced to download the files from the server itself. Therefore, your download speed may be very slow. You have to search for another file hosting provider that has FastDL support or manually install a FTP server.

I tried 000webhost still the same problem and also google drive . What do you mean manually install a ftp server

I used 000webhost for some time in the past and it was working fine (not very fast, but ok). Just make sure you add http:// in front of the URL: ex sv_downloadurl "http://xxx.000webhost.com/cstrike/". And make sure that you have installed this plugin too if you are using an older version of HLDS.

I mean that you can host a FTP server from a Dedicated server or a VPS or even your own PC (using XAMPP for example).

By the way, I can host your files for a couple of weeks or months or as long as I can for free. Just drop me a PM ;)

Almost all FREE file hosting providers have a limited upload speed and bandwidth. And as YamiKaitou said, using their service on most of them for FastDL hosting is a violation.You have to search for a premium one.
