Hello everyone, i gotta question about sv_region...
I had it set to 255 for like 4 months now.. And my server is located on east coast of usa(so i guess sv_region 0) but if i set it to sv_region 0 will it get less people to my server? Or even make it more popular? Still don't get what it does...
Please tell me!

sv_region is a console variable that is queried by the server browser to determine what part of the world the server is in.

eastcoast - sv_region 0
westcoast - sv_region 1
south america - sv_region 2
europe - sv_region 3
asia - sv_region 4
australia - sv_region 5
middle east - sv_region 6
africa - sv_region 7
world - sv_region 255

Regardless of what region it is, it will still bring in people. No matter who is looking at your server, it will come up as an east coast server (because of sv_region 0) and they will decide if they will want to join or not, based on how far away they are.

sv_region 255 (world) is only the best option if you have multiple servers across the world (ie one in North america, one in Europe, one in Asia)
