Im editing a map, and it is way too bright, i removed some lights, same thing. Removed all of the lights, and its still full bright. I get fps drop as well. There arent any leaks either. Other maps dont do this.
How could this be?

Why is it that when i load textures and compile a map, they are required even though im not using them?

What light should i use when im making a map like de_dust2? light? light_environment? What is the difference?

1. Not sure how it's lit up with no lights...
2. Not sure
3. Environment acts as sun, meaning everything will be lit at desired angle, a light acts LIKE a sun but only reaches so far... Environment is recommended if you're making a map like de_dust2 and use light_spot for smaller lights.

S34Qu4K3, so you mean i should use only one light_environment? How can i control the brightness of the "sun"?

Also, i found dust2.rmf and i made a few edits to it, when i put a few light_spots in, the map is full bright. Im going to change the spots to regular lights

No, if your map is too brightness and there isnīt shadows, you have a hole in your map.
You need to close your map

Put here the compilation log

Ok, on my maps. There is in fact a leak on dust2, so post #4 is obsolete. On my other maps there arent any leaks, but the map is still way too bright. How can i level down the brightness?
This is all three logs.

Also, how can i find where my leaks are? I assumed there wasnt any leaks because the "Check for Problems" feature says there were no problems

Again i have a question. Why is it that when i double click a .rmf file, i get an error saying it cant be found? The file opens perfectly fine

Change the last 3 numbers on brightness property of light_enviroment, light or light spot

If you have leak:
1)In VHE Map>Load Pointfile and follow the red lines
or
2)Use leakmarker.exe

There are no last 3 numbers, all it says in the text box is (no change). Why cant i change it? What should i change those last 3 numbers to? Say i want the lighting similar to de_dust2

Dude, he meant the 3 digit number as shown below:

Also, it is ALWAYS helpful to provide as much info as you can. Please post your compile log so people may better help you.
