hi, just asking around, has anyone poked into valve's files and found out something about how to sign a plugin to enable it to run , without using the -insecure parameter? i realised the thing has been implemented for all steam games... even tf2, which i just bought... is there any way to find out just how vavle signs the plugins?

Sourcemod on a listen server is barely supported anymore since that signing change. Everyone uses the source dedicated server for anything serious. Perhaps you should switch to srcds.

you can run the game while having the server up? i'm not sure how to set up a dedicated server and run the game at the same time, so i have been using listen server the whole while...

Yes you can. It's not patched on L4D. I believe there's complex crypto system to sign stuff.

If it's a good system there shouldn't be any way to sign a plugin without Valve's explicit doing.
