Hello all, I'm running a L4D1 server (yeah, old game!). I am having trouble getting the current version of metamod and sourcemod to appear on the server.

I did everything by the book. I am using midnight gaming servers, for the record.

First thing I did was run the steam updater thats built into the control panel. Success. I downloaded Metamod 1.8.3 linux and extracted it locally, and placed them into the server through FTP in the correct spot. I made the metamod.vdf and placed it into the addons folder. I did restart the server, multiple times.

I go into the server, type "meta version" and it is STILL showing version 1.7.1

I have no idea what to do.

Not sure what this could be besides you accidentally putting the files in the wrong place. Could try shutting down your server, erasing the MMS files already there, starting the server and making sure MMS isn't loading, then uploading again.
