Reply With Quote #1

Hey all, I'm trying to use TE_SetupBeamRingPoint to make a prison of sorts and need a way of detecting when a player leaves the ring so that I can teleport them back.

I've never used beams before so I don't even know if this is possible. Any help is appreciated and if it's not possible using this method could anybody suggest a different way of accomplishing what I want?

Thanks guys ^^

Ignore the beam, it is purely a visual representation.

You need to periodically get their origin and check the distance from the origin of the beam ring.

Thanks for letting me know, how would I go about doing that? Haha

Edit: Never mind I figured out a pretty decent way of achieving this. I ended up using GetVectorDistance to find the distance between the player origin and the beam ring origin and compared it to a predefined distance. Thanks for the help asherkin
