Well 100 pages and 1000 posts. Perhaps its best that the pinion guys make a new topic, since the topic itself is a bit strange for support questions.

Donations are a better way to go, if you provide special abilities and perks to players who donate. Pinion is a great way to drive traffic away from your servers. Nobody actually clicks those ads anyway. I myself will actually shift-tab and watch a Youtube video while I'm waiting for the MOTD to go away. Which brings up another point: clients who have cl_disablehtmlmotd enabled should not still be forced to wait before playing, and servers should not be allowed to read the value of cl_disablehtmlmotd from the clients.

You realise how these two points conflict, right?

He's talking about Force HTML MOTDs (I think), which I'd prefer Valve not break. There are plenty of non-advertisement uses to read that variable's value.

I actually can't stand this, servers that give special abilities to donators I avoid like the plague. Perks I can handle like reserved slot and things like that, but special abilities for some while others don't have it just ruin the game.

While browsing around HellsGamers I noticed their donation stats

Quote:
Donation Stats
Current Goal: $750
Due Date: May 31
Total Donations: $267
Previous Donations

< We Still Need: $483 >
They have a lot to make up in a day.

750$ a month to keep the place running.

That is a big amount.

I agree, it's not very flattering having support use a thread called "So, who will be dropping Pinion?". Maybe someone who uses the product can make a support thread, and keep this one as one to complain in. Or make a new thread for that too - we are on 1000+ posts here after all.

Thanks! Much appreciated.

We pushed out a minor plugin update v1.12.17

Changes
- Disabled Dev mode
- Increased polling amount which should improve dynamic duration behavior
- Reduced cool down to 30 seconds should the client not get a response.

v1.12.18 will move to our new API and will include a number of optimizations. Once .18 is finished we will be doing feature-add updates.
