Hello this is my first time posting so please bear with me.

I run a cs 1.6 server, i am trying to get
MP3 + Wav Player W/ music.ini Precacher that was done by Efrigid( i think i got the credit right). I have been having a hard time trying to configure the server for a sv_downloadurl

my current server config is this for the topic at hand.
sv_allowdownload 1( had to add this line because it wasnt there)
sv_downloadurl "http://mysite.com/my_cstrike/sound/music/"
i have tried it with differnt paths( making sure to have those paths active on the site that is hosting) all have been able to be put in a web browser addy and come up with no problems.. i have tried differnt variations :
blah blah/counter-strike/cstrike/sound/music/
blah blah/sound/music/
blah blah/cstrike/sound/music/

and i would match each when i tried them in the server.cfg file of the server and made sure that he music was on the server in the folder /sound/music

( i did them 1 at a time as a possible process of elemination)
also i have been doing alot of reading and been getting conflicting inputs from various post about the actual format i have seen some with = signs like
sv_downloadurl= http://www.mysite.com/sound/blah
and
sv_downloadurl http://www.mysite.com/sound/blah
and last but not least..
sv_downloadurl=http://www.mysite.com/sound/blah

i know that commands are very touch is why i ask..

i have complete access to our site that is trying to host some mp3 files for the addon that i am trying to get to work. the addon itself does work great and sounds great too.. it is just this http downloadurl is being a total pain.

on the game server i have the music in the sound/music folder ie:
sound/music/nightwish.mp3

the music.ini file with the song title are completely matching ie:
music.ini =
nightwish.mp3

so my question is why isn't the sv_downloadurl working,( i have had hlsw on in the background so i can see the logs from when i restart/changemap ) and i see no sv_downloadurl that was activated when i tried to connect to test the url.
what am i missing or am i just deprived of not enough sleep ???

if ya can offer some help it I would be thankful, i hope got enough info for you to work on..

Your sv_downloadurl needs to stop at "http://mysite.com/my_cstrike/".

so the actual url should be exactly :

sv_downloadurl http://www.mysite.com/my_cstrike
or
sv_downloadurl http://mysite.com/my_cstrike ?? * meaning leave out the www. part

( i just tried both variations of the above question, and still no success.. still has me at a 5+ min download of a 4meg file, where as on the web if i rightclick save from the http://gamersmilitia.com/my_cstrike/ or the other one i can dl it in 30-40 secs (( yes i am on cable ))) and the time from the 5+ min is rather lengthy, i did notice that the seconds as they were trying to count down really didnt go down that fast.. that is why i am lead to belive that the url isnt work.. and that is what is frustraiting me.

also i do not need to create a my_cstrike folder on the server( game server) itself correct?? Just have the music files in the sound/music folder..???

The www subdomain shouldn't matter but you need to ensure you include the trailing '/'.

e.g. http://www.mysite.com/my_cstrike/

Sorry if I confused you by dropping the "www". It superfluous to me.
