So what did you try? #000000? clBlack? Print the full line here.
Are you sure that you edited the file in the working copy of the program? Do you have multiple copies of this folder as a backup?
The first time I tried a hexadecimal value it didn't seem to work, but when I used clBlack and then hexadecimal it did. I assumed (and still do) that I did something wrong, like never saved the file or something.
I tried again downloading a clean copy of AMXX Studio, changed color without any problems at all.
