I'm not familiar with the conflict, but I'm fairly certain that several people have been running this plugin in TF2 since that update came out. I'm not sure how you would need to configure the server, but there's probably a way to turn of the map vote that's now built-into TF2.

Yes, you can disable the Valve voting system. It uses different convars to change maps and such so it will just be fighting UMC and map selection becomes a jumbled mess.

Steell: Possible feature request: Is there anything you can do with nextmap during the map? UMC doesn't decide to set the next map until the final scoreboard pops up, and people who type nextmap before then think they are going to, say, pl_frontier_final. The "problem" is that people think they are going to that map next, but UMC finally changes the next map right at the end when they aren't paying attention, and they end up going somewhere else because the nextmap information is always incorrect. I really liked how RandomCycle+ handled nextmap based on population in real time, and would switch the nextmap continuously during the round based on population changes. Could you implement something similar to that in UMC, or at least make a way for the nextmap information to be correct during the map?

It's a difficult problem. Right now, if you're running an end of map vote, if you type "nextmap" it will display the "Pending Vote" message, but if you're not then yes the next map information will be incorrect. I could definitely implement it how RandomCycle+ implements it, but would that really solve the problem if there's still a chance that it will change again later?

After the next bugfix update (being released next week ideally), I'm doing major changes to the plugin so that would be a good time to implement setting the next map how RandomCycle+ does it.

I'm not running end of map voting, so I currently fall under case #2. Of course, as you pointed out, there is still a chance for the nextmap to deviate during the time that the final scoreboard is displayed and people are leaving the server. When I used RC+, it seemed to be a fairly rare event, and usually manifested if the server population was hanging around the amount required to change the population tier. However, RC+ didn't pick a new "high tier" map every time the population went from high to medium to high again during the same map.

Example (dug out of my SM logs when we still used RC+):

Code:
L 03/30/2011 - 00:30:41: [randomcycleplus.smx] [SM] Set next map to: pl_frontier_final
L 03/30/2011 - 00:31:29: [randomcycleplus.smx] [SM] Set next map to: pl_goldrush
L 03/30/2011 - 00:32:53: [randomcycleplus.smx] [SM] Set next map to: pl_frontier_final
Here, the population dipped between the high (20-32 player) and medium (12-19 player) during a period of 3 minutes during a round. As you can see, it picked a middle tier map when the population dipped, and when the population increased back to the original value, the high-tier map previously chosen is back again.

Also, my server just crashed after a map change. I'm not sure if it's because of UMC or not.

It crashed on koth_lakeside_final, as seen by the abrupt ending and restarting of the log file.

I've been seeing a lot of crashes after a mapchange to koth_lakeside_final, whether it's with UMC or not. I'm looking into it just to make sure.

Yeah, it seems like one of the previous crashes this week was on a map change to koth_lakeside_final. It's really strange.

Anyway you can add a feature next update to allow people to type !revote if they join the server while a vote is in progress?

We have it setup for the vote to come up 4 mins before the map ends so if someone joins during the vote, they get no say in what the next map is gonna be.

Could you implement something similar to that in UMC, or at least make a way for the nextmap information to be correct during the map?
when i tried out mapchooser.smx it actually ended up somehow sending the custom settings into valves voting system while also running mapchooser with default settings. when i disabled valves voting system in server.cfg I still got the unconfigured mapchooser as if the custom settings were sent to the now disabled valve voting system still, the reason why I asked.

Unfortunately this isn't possible with Sourcemod's voting system: once a vote starts, there is no way to add/remove clients from the vote pool.
