anyone have this problem to or iam alone ?
No, I had to disable SaySounds to solve this issue. Valve has overworked the current precache system without providing room for future growth or plugin storage.

It's either constant overflow crashing or red X's with this extension for me, so I'll take what I can get at this point!

Still having issues with red X particle errors on some maps.

Would it be possible for someone to change line 123 of extension.cpp to
Code:

	if ( V_stristr( value, "mvm" ) | V_stristr( value, "eb_" ))
and compile it for Linux?

Or provide a Makefile for the building on Linux, as I am failing to get it to compile.

That should block most of the Monoculus Eyeboss particles from being cached too.

Alternatively, perhaps a version that reads a config file for strings to match the blocking with.

Don't block Monoculus particles please as for some servers, like mine, the admins spawn monoculus regularly and it's a lot of fun!

But same here.. Still red crosses after installing the extension and the particle manifest file.
Linux server.

That's one of the most annoying things that ever happened to tf2 >_<

With Halloween coming up and Valve invariably adding another Halloween map and boss, they're going to run into issues with the ParticleNames stringtable overflowing on standard maps if they don't fix it. In approximately a week given the start date of the Halloween event in years past.

I was asking for myself. I wasn't expecting anyone else to install it unless they wanted to.

Check your particle manifest file, it will get overwritten whenever there is a TF2 update.

Use dumpstringtables in rcon/HLSW to see how your servers string tables are looking.

I'm hoping so. I also mentioned it on the hlds mailing lists last night to hopefully draw the attention from someone at Valve.

Ever sense the mann co sale on 10/20/12 My MVM server has been getting Host_Error: Overflow error writing string table baseline ServerMapCycle error. It crashes my server it seems when people start playing atleast 2 waves of MVM. Using this extension does work to keep my server from crashing but the only issue i have with it is, it makes a lot of red Xs when you kill a robot and barly any robot or mvm sounds. Its kinda annoying, know any fix? or wait for an update.

Should we redownload that file or do you think the new update is going to cause issues with that particle manifest in that thread?
