That's just security by obscurity which is not reliable at all if someone has intentions of finding it.

If they don't know where to get the .amxx file, they can't steal your plugin . . .

This discussion continues to come up yet it has been explored so many times. Yes, there are measures that will protect your plugin to an extent. But if someone really wants it, nothing is going to stop them.

Fysiks is saying basically don't give your plugin to anyone, and don't choose an unreliable server host who is likely to take your plugins. @GuskiS, I had a server host once who did something similar, since they didn't know how to use my plugin, they basically revoked my access at the end of payment period and ran my server themselves because that was the only way lol.

But also, what you need to remember, is that 95% of "private plugins" are just work from this forum that's been thrown together, therefore you can find most of it here anyway.
The irony is that that the question is being asked by users who have very little experience in coding but think that it is worth going to such measures.

Most of the private plugins is no longer private (Not because someone has stolen it).

If you want it, just ask in this forum. If the request is just a simple one, I believe you will get the help for free. ;)

^this.
You can't protect an idea for a plugin. If someone sees it, he can request it here, hire someone to make it or learn to code and make the plugin himself.
