I may have missed something but is there any news on SourceMod's compatibility with SteamPipe's custom folder? I'm wanting to have a few .cfg files in custom/.../cfg/ to execute in-game via the admin menu but SourceMod won't allow us to put them there since the functions that parse adminmenu_cfgs.txt are unable to find it (due to the wrapper's assumption that all .cfgs are in the base cfg/ folder).

There's also the problem with nextmap.smx which has various half-fixes floating around the forums but shouldn't be needed once SourceMod patches things.

So back to the original question: any news on this or will the custom folder be forever lost to the ages?

Why don't you use the normal cfg and normal maps folder?

That answer does not help anyone. Purely saying "don't use the custom folder" is not a solution. That's like me asking how to extinguish a fire and you just suggest I don't start them in the first place. When there is a problem we fix it, as opposed to just closing your eyes and hoping for the best.

It has nothing specifically to do with steampipe. Many SourceMod functions just use direct filesystem calls from the game's base instead of looking through all of the valve filesystem search paths (including the ones in gameinfo.txt which was augmented in TF2's steam pipe update).

This is or was mostly because that interface had a tendency to change in breaking ways on some games. It's possibly a bit more stable now, but would require a new build (not just gamedata) anytime it breaks with the current setup.

Cool, please let us know if you get that portion up and running, or if there's anything I can do to help too. Of course you have priorities for what to work on so all in due time my good man.
