Version 3.0.1 Released.
If you're coming from v3.0, only .smx files need to be updated for this release.
  • Added extra argument to sm_setnextmap that specifies when the map will be changed.
  • Added response to the reload mapcycles command.
  • Fixed bug with map exclusion in tiered votes.

Yes, sadly more features means more complexity.

There's really 3 mapchoosers out there:
SourceMod Mapchooser - Simplest
Mapchooser Extended - Moderate complexity, a few features more than SourceMod Mapchooser
Ultimate Mapchooser - High complexity, a lot more features than SourceMod Mapchooser.

These complexities are relative.

If you're not on 3.0.1, please update. If you are, can I see your logs and your umc_mapcycle.txt?

EDIT: Also, if this was the first map after the plugin loaded, it will not be able to exclude the current map from the vote. This will go away after the map changes.

I'm currently working on the new AdminMenu module, which will add an "Ultimate Mapchooser" category to the admin menu, giving admins the ability to set the next map and create map votes (as well as providing shortcuts for reloading the UMC-Mapcycles and stopping votes).

I am still taking feature requests and ideas so if there is anything you want to see in the admin menu, please share.

I updated to 3.1 and still get the same map exclusion problem when testing with sm_umc_mapvote 0. I replaced all the .smx and scripting files and the configs are the same as shown in my last post.

Are you testing this immediately after loading the plugin?

UMC cannot keep track of previously played maps unless UMC is the plugin to change the map in the first place (and not via sm_setnextmap). So if you're doing "sm_map" or "changelevel" and then running a vote to see if the current (or previous) map is in the vote, then yes UMC will not exclude those maps.

For the next version I am going to have UMC try and look for an appropriate group in the event of a non-UMC map change, so that it can at least try and exclude the map.

I've tested by using sm_umc_mapvote to vote for maps. I know that the map the server starts on won't be tracked by UMC, so I've used that command to change it for testing purposes. The server defaults to badwater, so I vote for goldrush, then frontier, then goldrush again. My config is set to exclude the last 6 maps umc set, so goldrush -> frontier -> goldrush should be stopped because I was using a umc command to change them, no?

sm_umc_mapvote is controlled by umc-votecommand.smx. Can I see your umc-votecommand.cfg file?
