joking aside, was there an chain discussion to any of the devs about this issue? I don't follow any of the email things. Not having a motd breaks a few of my custom gamemodes that rely on it as a menu, there are alternatives just not as 'flashy' or have the ability to be more descriptive.

How would a server-sided extension be able to do anything like that without needing to inject or modify something within the client's game? Gmod has the ability to download lua scripts to the client in order to do stuff like that, which every other source game doesn't have that ability or the ability to even execute mainly anything useful client sided.

The lack of an MOTD with panorama enabled was probably a design choice valve made due to the fact that community owners were abusing it. If that's true: good job guys.
