Does that mean that the WebPanel v2 won't be released today?

Its working fine.
The guys who got a hosted beta have not reported any bugs with the new WebPanel.
(Someone even reported that the WebPanelv2 works with the 1.2 Store Plugin)

But there are still a few things ToDo until the first Release Candidate:
* Implement the json exporter
* Fix a few problems with the design
* Add a (easy) way to change the existing db layout to the new db layout that comes with 2.0.0

Once thats done I can release 1.0

If there arnt to many bugs that got missed, I can start working on 1.1 which is going to bring a Plug-In Architecture to the WebPanel itself.

Since there are a few people who are confused about the Beta of the WebPanel, I have decided to answer a few frequently asked questions below:

Q: Why do you offer a Hosted Beta ?
A1: I collect various stats that help me optimize the WebPanel (such as Page Loading Time, Number of Queries, I can even figure out how long a specific function takes to process)
A2: I also collect all the errors thrown by hosted WebPanels in once place (Which makes it easier for me to find common problems)

Q: When the official version is released, is there still only a hosted option available ?
A: No, you can always run the WebPanel on your own Host (see below)

Q: Do I need to join the Hosted beta to be able to run the WebPanelv2 ?
A: No - You can always clone the repo and setup the WebPanelv2 on your own Host

Q: I have tried to setup the WebPanelv2 on my own Host but I am stuck. Can I ask you for help ?
A: No, at the Moment I dont have the time to support for the WebPanel on custom configurations

Q: I have filled out the form, but I have not received an answer.
A: My resources are not unlimited, so I have to choose people that have a "challenging" setup.

Sounds like the v2 WebPanel will be pretty sweet. I've just cloned the repository and will try it out on my groups test server.

I take it things like forum integration is a possibility in the future via the api?

Or would something like your existing forum integration code be usable (though probably would require tweaking am guessing) if updated?

From what I have read it definitely sounds like v2 is going to be vastly better than v1's, especially with features like the ability to purchase/preview/etc items and/or credits/etc. Great work, :-)

The existing forum integration is not using the webpanel to access the store plugin (its using "raw" db queries).
So yes, its possible to use the existing forum integration with the new version (with a few changes to the queries)

But it would be better to rewrite it to use the upcoming API.

Development Update:
+ The first part of the "UserPanel" has been added
+ Its possible to log into the userpanel:
  • Using the ingame browser(motd window) without the need to enter credentials
  • Using a normal browser and "login with steam" (So there are no extra credentials you need to remember)
  • I will add a option for admins that allows them to impersonate users in the future (So they can see exactly the same thing the user sees when they help someone; Ofc that integrates into the permission system)
