Something I always needed in KAC but the developer refused, which was the reason we could never use it, is a passive mode. The goal would be for SMAC in this mode to never issue an automatic ban but instead be able to inform admins via IRC that it has detected something just like when players call for an admin. Is this possible?

its already in there for some cvars, did you look at the cfg?

// Enable the eye test detection routine. (0 = Disabled, 1 = Warn Admins, 2 = Ban)
// -
// Default: "1"
smac_eyetest "1"

// SpinHack detection module. (0 = Disabled, 1 = Warn Admins, 2 = Ban)
// -
// Default: "1"
smac_spinhack "1"

What sinblaster said will warn the admins that are just in the game. What he wants is it to warn the admins that are in the IRC Chat. That would be a cool addition, but it might be hard to implicate.

Thanks. No, sorry, I didn't actually look at the cvars. I wanted to read some documentation before installing anything so that I knew if it was what I was looking for. All I found was this and these settings were not mentioned.

Can it do this for all functions that would otherwise ban? If so then modifying it to report to IRC will probably not be too difficult, especially not if it already logs it.
