Internet shuts down when i use steam o.O

Everytime i Open steam, Maximize, and refresh(a few times) my internet connection goes down for 2 seconds and comes back up. It only happens when steam is being used. I run 2 dedicated servers, and they keep shutting down when i open steam to play in my server. Im pretty sure it isnt my server causing the problems, might be a virus but i ran a scan 2 days ago and cleared 118 critical items(83 cookies) and then restarted my computer. Sometimes it lets me connect without my internet going out but then sometimes when the map changes my server will crash due to my internet going out

It says "a network cable has been unplugged" when it really hasnt. If anyone has had this problem and fixed it, please share how

My router dies every time I use AIM on my laptop. This is very nice, as it means Brad can't IM me.

That really had nothing to do with your problem, but it sounds like your router is crapping out.

hmm.. It was fine a few days ago.. but now all of a sudden it keeps doing this. I have a D-link router btw..

Try to make sure, if you are using wireless, that your wireless card isn't trying to connect to more than one network...

My router is a wireless, but my dads using the card.
