Hey i've been having my server around for a while now and i have a problem, when i use maps and plugins people can't download but i have a sv_downloadurl and everything is in bz2. Now i dont know what to do i've tryed everything to make it work, so i really need some help


Now this is what i have

sv_allowdownload 1
sv_allowupload 1
net_maxfilesize 99
sv_downloadurl http://speedwing.servegame.com/tf//maps/

Try downloading a file manually from it using a web browser and see if it's actually working.

I'm not sure about this, but using a Windows server for sv_downloadurl might not work at all because of permissions, MIME, and all that. It's never worked for my server (even though I could access its files in Firefox), and so I'm one of those people who has to use Dropbox :\

If your server host is also hosting your download server, you might want to ask them.

Try using quotes around the URL. I heard that works for some people.

fixed.. copy what I did and try it also make sure there is a "maps" directory placed with in the /tf/ directory as that is what it looks for as in map selection.

From what I've been told, the engine automatically appends a slash, so a trailing slash is unnecessary. Most servers will condense multiple slashes, though, so it should work. For example, this looks fine to me: http://speedwing.servegame.com/tf//maps/

Didn't work either and yes i have the maps folder with the map inside it with bz2.

Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but when I clicked the map file to download it, its extension was .bsp.bz2.bsp.bz2....

I dont know, am new with this and all i did was bz2 the map and put in the maps folder

i made a new bz2 of the map

ok I can't even connect to that directory...perhaps that is the problem
