Anyhow, I am in the search of a Linux based firmware to replace the current Linksys firmware on my routers. I was hoping someone here might have heard of something?

It is not a wireless router.

Well I can't recommend anything for replacing on the actual router, but you can get firewall/router linux's boxes. IPCop or Smoothwall are two very good free ones. Basically set up a box with however many network cards you want (I'd recommend just 2 to begin with, one for RED zone and one for GREEN zone).

Yea, I could do that, but I already have actual hardware firewalls(Cisco PIX 506 and a Watchguard device) like that, I just wanted to make these $40 routers worth more. And actually make them worth using.

What are you looking to get out of these routers? OpenWrt is an excellent linux distro for hardware routers that can actually run linux. It is a pretty minimal implementation and you can do whatever you want with it. It even has a nice package system that allows you to easily install software.

I tried looking up your router but could not find any references to it actually being able to run linux. If OpenWrt documentation doesn't list it as a supported router then it is likely that it does not support linux.

Running linux on embedded hardware is not easy. You have to setup compiler toolchains and sometimes you even have to get JTAG hardware to be able to program the devices. It is usually easier to just buy a router that already runs on linux (ASUS, Linksys, and Buffalo make such routers). Be careful though, you don't get that much power out of these little devices.
