Nope. If chmodding to 777 doesn't work contact your webhost and tell them to fix their configuration.

update went well, but adminpage still says: "Latest release: 1.4.1", sm plugins list says ""SourceBans" (1.4.2)".

also I get an "error connecting" at my server in the server list after the update, although its up and running.

of course, I updated web and game files including database - any idea?

ulx - I have the same version mismatch on my admin panel, but my systems are connecting without issue.

Is there anything in the sourcemod log directory?
what is said in the sourcebans.log file?

Files that need to be confirmed correct in the /addons/sourcemod/...: databases.cfg, sourcebans.cfg

If those two files are correctly identifying the parameters, there should definitely be something in the logs.

I didn't change the configfiles as they worked before.

Also, I don't have any error-log filfe. Thats strange ...

EDIT: executing rcon commands via sourcebans console is working, so there must be a connection.

EDIT II: Also it seems to check IDs and writes into the logfile. But it still says "error connecting" in the server list.

If it says this than you probably didnt overwrite the php files in the main directory. Dont forget to run the updater. There was also a fix for connection errors today. http://projects.interwavestudios.com/issues/show/1050

You have to download it via svn and replace the files that were changed.
