Its not harsh. With the new Karma standards, it should be next to impossible to reach that. Unless your Riddick51 of-course.

At this point I've no plans to start banning users for low karma. However, the moderators can and do use karma to communicate their feelings about a user.

For example, I'll often moderate posts differently depending on karma. Furthermore, seeing someone drop to low karma quickly lets me know a user has been causing trouble elsewhere.

It seems unfair to start banning users for low karma when there is no reward for good karma.
