I will be pulling Pinion from my servers.
It's just not worth it to me anymore.
It annoys the players and it's not going to generate any revenue for us.

I suspect most people will after February. Unless they either fix their system or revert their policies, which I doubt either will happen to any significant degree.

This is my last month with them.

Probably, it's a good concept. Just very poor execution. Making policy changes like that without a bug free working model is just a terrible idea, and very poor planning. The people using pinion want stability and tossing them under the bus isn't a good business plan for anyone.

I only starting using pinion late November, right before the policy change. It was fun while it lasted and got me through the holidays okay financially. So I guess I'll go back to paying out of pocket and donations.

Same as me nineteeneleven although i recommend you look at DeathMasters signature there's a service called paid to promote who pay pretty well for motd advertising there website is not much to look at since it is very poorly designed and needs updating but they pay pretty well.

I saw that a few days ago. I'm going to start exploring other options this month. I'll let you know if I come up with anything.

Take [TF2] Respawn System for example. It works with Quickplay and 700 servers are still using it.
If you end up on one using QuickPlay, hit F7 and choose "Report Server" and mention that they're modifying respawn times without the respawntimes flag.

I think it changed. I remember Fletcher mentioning it in passing in the mailing list. I setup and instant respawn server and it still has the _registered tag. So at least it appears ok.

The _registered tag doesn't necessarily mean you're quickplay-enabled.
