To people getting this error recently, please specify whether you are on windows or linux, and try getting the latest gamedata from the link in the OP

The tank count should be the number of tanks currently in play. This number should work well to just check "is there a tank in play" if necessary.

i have that error after using updated gamedata file (linux)

i think it explains why ive not seen more than 4 out of the 8 available join

just tried this Linux: http://build.limetech.org/dashboard/...own2-1.3-linux made no difference

i tried old versions 0.4.6.0 doesnt load downtown
i tried release candidate 0.4.7.0-rc1 and got this

To those with "[LEFT4DOWNTOWN] PlayerSlots -- Offset for 'ValveRejectServerFullFirst' is incorrect" errors:

Are you running L4DToolz or any other such extensions?

If you want to use LDToolZ for player slots, disable Left4Downtown's player slots functionality by using l4d_maxplayers -1.

of course cant get server to read as over 8player without l4dToolz, Defib Fix, Sockets, Stripper and Hooks

Actually, you can. That's something that Left4downtown does. I run 16 slot servers without any of those addons you mentioned.

Like I said, if you don't want to use Left4Downtown for playerslots patching, disable it with l4d_maxplayers -1, or just ignore that error. Left4Downtown will still work fine.

The Stripper Extension was recommended with the points system, Defib Fix Extension helps not to end up defibbing yourself or a team mate still alive elsewere on the map, sockets and hooks extensions are required for the modified after the author left Kigen Anti Cheats plugin, ok thx -1 ok gotcha ya ;)

PS Do i need sm_cvar sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0 with l4d_unreserve_full in server.cfg?

Does this have an equivalent to sv_maxvisibleplayers? like in l4dtoolz? That way ppl can join above the player limit without needing the connect command?

Otherwise it seems ppl have to use 'connect' when its above 4 in coop :/

If you want to use l4dtoolz, it's probably a good idea to disable l4downtown's playerslots patch by setting l4d_maxplayers -1. Also you don't need the connect command to join a l4downtown increased-maxplayers game, but you have to do view game info -> join game.

I believe a number of people use l4dtoolz alongside left4downtown by setting l4d_maxplayers -1, but I have little experience with it myself unfortunately. If L4DToolz serves as a good replacement for our playerslots patches we'll probably deprecate them.
