recording movies ingame

is there a way to record movies while your ingame? not .dem files, but regular movie files, like .avi or .mpg or something...

www.google.com --- fraps --- you could look for others too but fraps is okay.

OK you have two options. You could either:

1. Use FRAPS only if you have a good computer (reduces fps a great deal)
2. Record the demo. Then do timedemo [demoname] and then when it's done, viewdemo [demoname]. Go to a part that you want to record, and type startmovie [newname] [fps]. I usually do startmovie a 30. Then when the part ends, type endmovie. Then use virtualdub to convert all the .bmp files to .avi
