Still desperately seeking a duration command. Not asking for much, just something like "sm_silence 120" where sm_silence is a command that activates a duration in which sounds cannot be played, and 120 is the span of that duration.

Hi, I'm unable to hear the actual sound when playing. It says say sounds is playing but it doesn't. However sm_play actually plays the sound that I can hear it. What gives?

I'm using the latest 1.3.0 snapshot as of today. On the other servers I've setup using an earlier version of 1.3.0 it works so when trying to mimic the setup over to a new one it fails.

So can anyone think of a reason say sounds says its playing but it doesn't?

A few people on my servers discovered the say sounds are playing but its playing at the center of the map. Which is very very weird to me and as such I'm still stuck with saysounds that don't really work.

MrSaturn, I don't believe my admins but they are saying a silent clip 15-30 seconds long drowns out others apparently.

We've been having the same issue described above on our servers (SM 1.3.0 -dev hg2751). The sounds are playing from the map origin (0,0,0) rather than from/to the players. At first we thought was a bug with the plugin, but then we came across this.

https://bugs.alliedmods.net/show_bug.cgi?id=3918

We updated to snapshot hg2763 and the problem still persisted, so it doesnt look like that bug was the source of the problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: It looks like this has occured before, looking back in the thread, as early as january. No mention of how it or if it was fixed though.

First of all, thank you guys very much for still updating/working about this plugin

I guess i've found a little bug in the new anti recently played protection.
It seems it split the admin and normal player sounds. As a consequenze that the admins while joining the server often don't hear their admin(join) sounds and got the "This sound has recently played" message instead.

suggestion: would be nice, if this new protection ignores admins in general, so it only counts the normal player sounds.

The following is directly related to this sourcemod plugin, and since there is no subforum that fits better, I'll post this here:

I was sick of fumbling around with notepad to edit the saysounds.cfg, so I wrote an editor.

It enables you an easier management of existing, as well as rapid creation of new config files.
It can also be used to fix messed up indentation, just open an existing file and re-save it.

If you have all of the sounds on your harddisk, you can tell the editor the directory.
This enables it to calculate the size of all saysounds, that your players have to download
from your server. Also, this enables you to preview the sounds just by clicking on them
in the list.

Get it - or the (VB6) sourcecode here: http://3775.pgserver.de/index.php?downloads-show-21

Hi,
I´ve install this plugin and it works great, but there is a little problem.
If more than 1 player or admin play a sound the sounds play at same time.

Example:
I´ve add 2 sounds benny-dogs

Player 1 write benny and sound works.
Player 1 write benny Player 2 write dogs at same time sounds works but play at same time.

How can i fix it, that sounds plays in queue like first benny after sound end sound dogs beginns?

Is it possible to set a saysound to activate in tf2 only when the someone dies from a crit with a specific weapon?

like

"action" "crit_kill"
"param" "bat"

You need to have a valid saysounds.cfg file in the addons/sourcemod/configs directory. It either isn't there, has incorrect permissions set so it can't be read, has been corrupted or is invalid.
