It's a client not connected error, I doubt it's a major problem, just a usual timing issue.

Similar idea: Active blocking. Set VOICE_MUTED when voice_inputfromfile is changed to 1, and set it back to VOICE_NORMAL when voice_inputfromfile goes back to 0.

The player would try to play their sound file, get muted, get an 'HLSS is blocked on this server' message, maybe a client-side buzzer sound, and a few seconds after HLSS stopped, they could talk again.

You'd essentially create an active HLSS block that wouldn't permanantly mute the player and be much less obtrusive.

It would help to speed up the initial Timer_CheckAudio to prevent sound from leaking through, and maybe a second, slower timer that starts upon voice_inputfromfile changing to 1, to watch for when it goes back to 0.

Problem is that you can't hook client convar changes, hence why he has to use a timer and query the value every second.

You could speed that timer up (at a hit to performance of course), but one second of micspam isn't so bad. Also looks like Floor Master already had my idea in mind anyway:
