My server crashed (very rare event) and I got the following error msg: "FATAL ERROR (shutting down): SZ_GetSpace: overflow without FSB_ALLOWOVERFLOW set on Server Spectator Buffer".

I don't allow spectators so I'm not sure what that is about. I usually run the same map all day but had just switched to a somewhat unpopular map so I'm wondering if someone deliberately crashed the server to get us off that map.

Anyone know what the error msg means? I can't find anything on it and I'm not sure its even an amxx issue.

sz_getspace is caused by info getting backed up on the server because it can't send it fast enough, usually. You know, Google works fine for this stuff too.

I did a google search before I came here. There were only a couple of hits and one spoke of exploits but it was on a Day of Defeat server.

The one partially relevant mention I found on this specific error msg said it was related to an exploit on DoD and Voogru had written a plugin specifically to fix that problem but it only works for DoD. Voogru was a coder for amx mod I believe- I used to run his fireworks plugin on my server.

Since it mentioned this error in the context of an exploit I am wondering if someone deliberately crashed my server somehow.

I find it hard to believe the server couldn't send info fast enough (unless there was a crasher) as I use a game rental and it should have more than enough horsepower and bandwidth. Crashes are extremely rare.

Hopefully someone here can shed some light on this.

That is most likely caused, not by someone crashing the server, but your computer or connection not being able to handle the amount of information being sent between it and the server. So I would locate the weak link and upgrade that.
