for those with sound problems:-

1 create a folder called misc in your sound folder

2. upload whatever sounds you want to it

3. res file looks like this:-

"resources"
{
"sound/misc/anxious.wav" "file"
"sound/misc/blower.wav" "file"
"sound/misc/common.wav" "file"
"sound/misc/chicken.wav" "file"
"sound/misc/comeout.wav" "file"
"sound/misc/woo_hoo.wav" "file"
"sound/misc/ding.wav" "file"
}


4. soundlist.txt looks like this:-

// The menu sytem will strip the path off the file
// when displayed. There can only be 15 user sounds

misc/anxious.wav
misc/blower.wav
misc/common.wav

That works for me, I got my sounds from the beetlewhatisname plugin, but you can get others off the net

***sod it*** for the lazy peeps, here is a rar with sound files res files and everything in the correct folders, if you want to add res files for other maps just copy and rename to the map you want.

Aye but it was a bit confusing with regards to what folders, I had to fiddle for a while and I been running cs servers for 4 years, judging from the amount of "sounds dont work posts" I thought I would simplify things for people

Yeah good work i did it yesterday but it didn't work for me and i gave up then the server crashed and all the sounds came to live
So you have to restart the server! (or it has to do with something else??)

yeah i found that with sounds, am wondering if server needs to cache sounds and only way to do that is a restart ?

because their text isn't showing up on HL2DM... =\
