Team Fortress 2 by default only allows players to join the numerically weaker team. The only exception would be equal teams, where the player can join either blu or red.
I'd like to allow players on my server to choose whatever team they want to join, resulting in something like 5 players on red with nobody on blu.

I know that this is possible, since many community servers do not have this restriction.
Is it a plugin or just a convar I missed?

I've searched the internet quite thoroughly and could't find anything but other posts asking for this without a solution, and the TF2 cvar list didnt help me either.

I would greatly appreciate any help, since I've been looking for this for weeks.

I dont know what methods you tested, but simpliest way i see is
mp_autoteambalance 0
mp_limitteams 0

mp_limitteams doesnt exist in tf2

I've tried setting that to all sorts of values, currently 0. but -1 1 and 25 dont do anything either, which makes sense, as it should only affect the game with mp_autoteambalance turned on.
