Ok, I think I'm getting it. You are sharing one machine and each of you runs his own server on it ? If so, how do you manage the files ? Locally or through ftp ?

actually we are sharing the same gameserver (the one im trying to hide the pw on). i have had other gameservers which ran on my own root server, atm im running another one (controlled only by me) on a shared box and now i got into this one. but until now i didnt have to hide the pw since i alone had access to my servers ...

but now i dont want the pw to be read by other people. im concerned someone i dont trust (and thats not the guy im sharing the gameserver with)) is able to get the pw (dont care which way - just want to make my forum db safe against some possibilities i cannot control).

hmmm ok, thats the reason, now im trying to find a solution ;). since the other guy has ftp access he is able to read the cfg files. but i cant control who also has the ftp data so i dont like plain text passwords. hes got the rcon pw (of course) but i dont know who has it too so i dont like the cvar showing up ;)

Do you want this for just one plugin? Like just for admin_sql.amxx ?

hmmm good question ... would be nice for every password (like for forummod, standard sql.cfg).

but right now i just want it for forummod ...
