I don't think UMC supports multi-level tiers. It might, but I haven't seen anything saying it does, nor even seen that in action. Also, the UMC documentation pretty much spells it out, see "Types of votes" here.

When players want to RTV, the amount of players required to rtv takes spectators into account. Is there a way to ignore spectators?

Alright, I feel like I'm losing my mind here, but nowhere in any of the documentation does the author tell us which directory to put the mapcycle file in. I assumed along with the other default mapcycle.txts, but I wanted to be sure, because I'm having an insane amount of difficulty getting anything to work.

I've gone over all the wiki, directions, etc., dozens of times and can't seem to find a place where he tells us where the file goes, or tells us to copy the structure of the directories exactly. Can anyone help?

May/may not be related but, when I open the admin menu and hit the UMC option, all I g et are three choices, all three of which are just gibberish words and symbols. Eaauuhgghh

You are right the mapcyclefiles habe to be placed in your gamefolder. For example
C:\server\dodsserver\dod

To be sure it has to be in the folder where addons maps cfg are also located. If you want your own destination for your mapcycle (s) just edit the cfg files from umc

Did you try to reupload translationfiles? Do you have a language with " weird" characters like chinese or something? Try to change serverlanguage to english (sourcemod.cfg) restart server and see if it is still messed up

Unfortunately not. Players trolling from spec and just going afk or being idle has long been a problem in many games. I would suggest using an AFK kicker plugin. There's some good ones out there that you can configure to move AFKs to spec or kick from server after x amount of time, and then kick them from the server if they are in spec too long as well.

Another approach is to use admin flags to create VIP groups. I believe you can then limit the voting to only VIPs.

It's not stated, because its already exactly where it needs to be in the download. If you simply pasted the contents of the DL to the root of your game folder, the addons folder, cfg folder, and umc_mapcycle.txt file would all be in the correct spots.

what am I missing? I used the map generator to create to mapcycle file but I am getting this error. Cannot get any maps to pull up correctly...

I'm not aware of any "map generator" included with UMC. You should edit the mapcycle file included with the package, and leave it in the same place in the folder structure as it is in the package. The example mapcycle file has plenty of information inside of it on how to create your mapcycle file, and if you need more help look at the documentation linked to in the OP.

The link you provided isn't part of the official UMC as far as I know - looks like a tool someone else designed to work with UMC. If it is generating mapcycle files that don't work, I'd take it up with that author.

At first glance your mapcycle file does look correct. The thing that jumps out are the parenthesis characters, ( and ). You might want to try removing/replacing those and see if you can get the mapcycle to work. Seems like I've had some issues with special characters in the past, but I really can't remember the details. Another issue I believe I've had was a cycle file generated on a Linux system being moved over to a Windows system, or perhaps it was vice-versa. Those file systems treat "plain" text files slightly different.

Edit: I'm not seeing much documentation on the "display" option. I think there was more examples in the old documentation before it was moved to Google Code. You might want to check those Wikis and see if you can find anything. If not, I'd just get rid of the "display" options and replace those with {} after each map and see how that works out for you.
