If you do end up implementing it, please make it optional. Some others are complaining about lag with the built-in SQLite in recent updates, although I have an uninformed hunch that this might be an issue with the plugins themselves.

You should be able to just change "mysql" to "sqlite" in the database.cfg. Unless you made your queries only readable from only mysql, which usually would only happen when you get into the deeper stuff in SQL. I'm no expert on the topic though, just that i've used the same queries for both cases before. (SELECT and CREATE UPDATE/INSERT etc.)

I only use what you said (and well, WHERE also). But the configuration will be still here, 'cause you have to create tables + database (wich is not include in teh plugin, and I totally don't want to do this :/)

Some of us don't have VPS's. We just have TF2 servers which we can manage from a control panel with a login, and FTP access to the server is limited to the folder containing tf/, bin/, hl2/, etc. While we have full control over all sub-folders, we can go no higher up the folder tree. And why should we be able to? The only thing there would be the files for OTHER PEOPLES' servers. How am I supposed to install XAMPP? Will Sourcemod pull a miracle and install it if I put the EXE into my addons folder?

On the other hand, Sourcemod ships with SQLite built in. This is how ClientPrefs works.
You make it sound like it's the coders issue that for some funky reason you cannot get your hands on a MySQL server or a server to install XAMPP on.

It is generally a coder's desire to reasonably modify his code in an effort to be usable by a wider audience, yes. And it is generally a coder's desire to write plugins that have as few outside dependencies as possible, yes.

Has anybody even tested to see if it worked with just switching it to SQLite, 50% sure it does with out any changes.
although the SQL code isn't very user friendly, atleast i'm just not used to reading the functions.

nit: doesn't use threaded queries bad!
