I run a few Ubuntu 12.04 servers off of a dedicated server. No issues here whatsoever. I'm using one of the more recent snapshots of SM and MM....though I really should look into updating them.

From what I'm reading, the issue mainly seems to affect CentOS, Windows, and some other builds. Anyone else with Ubuntu 12.04 have an issue?

Just wondering if I'm the only Ubuntu 12.04 server operator without issues.

Possibly problem only with 32-bit systems.
We use 32-bit Debian 5.0:
Code:
# uname -a
Linux tf.uaplayer.com 2.6.26-1-686 #1 SMP Sat Jan 10 18:29:31 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

Getting the same error
Quote:
./srcds_linux: error while loading shared libraries: bin/libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4: ELF file OS ABI invalid
On my CentOS 5.9, x64 machine..... on ALL servers.

----------

Installing a brand new server (downloading fresh tf2 copy) I'll report back after to see if its working or not

----------

Update:: Brand new install.. same error.

----------

Update #2:: Things I tried...

yum install glibc.i686 libstdc++.i686
yum update

Server reboot... and nothing... same issue. Hmm... this is becoming annoying.

Your question is completely different than the topics listed here.

These are server related issues, not client related.

From what I've heard, it's an issue with the version of libtcmalloc_minimal being bundled with the game now. The version they included seems to crash on older systems (not sure why... kernel? glibc?). Some server owners are reporting that installing a different (newer?) version and copying it to the TF2 bin directory fixes the problem on CentOS and Gentoo...

RedHat, Fedora, and CentOS servers can grab it from the Fedora EPEL repository. It's included in the Google Perftools package... although I don't have exact instructions on how to do this... probably extract the RPM and cp libtcmalloc_minimal somewhere.

Gentoo servers can grab it from emerge:
Code:
1) ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~x86 emerge -av dev-util/google-perftools
2) cp /usr/lib/libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4.1.0
~/srcdstf2/bin/libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4
(where srcdstf2 is your TF2 directory)

Valve should have pushed a fix for the Linux problem by now, at very least in next few hours.
