idk about your case, but your computer must be a server (the machine, and the OS version). don't compare PCs (personal computer) with servers.

4 cores, not 4 CPUs.

The server will run Debian.

1 Physical CPU Core = 1 Logical CPU

Sorry my english isn't the best so i thought you have 3 CPUs (not cores). ;)

Do you run Sourcemod on the 20 servers? And what kind of CPU is that?

I have one physical cpu, and 4 cores. Running on an ESXi 5.1 Desktop (bottom tower, and no I don't have all three stacked for actual use, I was one up'ing some one) that I use as a Virtual Private Server Host. The server has an AMD A6-3670 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics Quad Core @2.7 GHz, with 16 GB of ram, and 2 gigabit nic's, (one for game servers only, the other for everything else ie. web/sql, shoutcast, vSphere connect, ect.). I hope you can understand this. Because I can not explain it any simpler.

Yes I have SM on all 20 servers.

It's all about how you use it.

Yup, thanks But you're hosting gameservers in virtual machines on ESXi?

How many slots does the css-servers have (are there players on the server?)? And which operating system are you using? Maybe a custom kernel? I can't believe that 20 css-servers are running on a AMD A6-3670. Then i wouldn't have to upgrade from my i7 950 to an i7 3770. Would be great if you could describe if there are some customizations to run 20 servers on that hardware.

i have a 15mb/s upload and a 250 down and i would be concerned of hosting that many servers on my connect :/

im still new to hosting in home servers but i know this from using GSP, hosting a server can require alot of bandwidth. With ur bandwidth being stressed or used up ull experience lag faults and poor reg.

With my connection i gather i could probably host something like 10 servers if i wanted to push it but im only going to do a csgo server and a tf2 server. Also its not only going to be ur comp hardware that will factor if u can run this many servers, it will also require a half decent router. ( im not saying something like a super business router just something withe a 10/100/1000 connection and something with decent enough through put for all them packets )

TF2 servers, not CS:S
Virtual machine, singular. Believe it or not it's Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Each server has a max of 1000 fps (meaning its actual 500 fps), except for the mvm servers they have 2000 fps limit, so many crottets.

I really need to get better graphics card for it. I have Radeon HD 5450 and this Radeon HD 6570 right now and I wana get 16 more gigs of ram for it, but money is tight.
Spoiler
