Yeah even I dont think mmtimer is bad, well if you still thinks its bad then when you have an alternate option of Win 7 then why are you bother of windows XP.As win 7 is solving your problem go with it.or else Google it out I am sure you will get some or the other solution for it.Well mmtimer is not at all bad,so do inquire about it too.

In XP is not possible to get 1000FPS. Only way i see it to crack the windows kernel somehow...
In W7 and Linux is possible easy

I can never understand why some people want servers running at ridiculous FPS.

Firstly since the majority of players use 60 or 100/120hz lcd monitors these days the most they can render is 120 fps (On a very expensive monitor, most are 60hz)

If a server running at 1000fps for example sent and received the updated information to your 'players' computers (Assuming they could actually render this), they would be sending so much data, that you would flood there home connections.

Most people dont undstand that a servers rates and the players personal settings are what give good hit registry, nothing to do with frame rates.(By that I mean sys_ticrate greater than 66 are fine, 100 is best, more is pointless)

A good server willl have max rates set at 60000/100000 and min rates at 10000

Its then up to the player to configure there max_cmdrate to match there monitor refresh rate, so setting this to 60 or 100/120 should be fine.

And if they want best results, set there max_updaterate to 100

They can then use net_graph 3 in the console to check how these rates working for them, and monitor their loss/choke

Adjusting the max_cmdrate and max_updaterate as necessary, to achieve best performance. Please note that increasing your personal rates will increase your latency to the server, as the server has to send you more data the higher you set these personal rates.

Good rates = good hit registry. Not super high FPS!
