Would it be possible for the bot to ignore a chat line that contains a specific string of text? I have two servers with irc relays that I like to have the ability to talk across them both, however, when the map changes it tends to spam the other server.

are examples of what I would want ignored. It doesn't sound too hard to have it ignore a line with specific text. I would do it on my own, but sadly I'm not sure how.

I'm gonna take a guess and say you're using HLSW's chat feature to talk to players in your server while not in game?.. you see invalid client because you're not in game. Thats why when you talk thru HLSW, your chat isn't relayed. If that's the case, then there's nothing to fix here.

I'm not using HLSW, i'm talking from IRC and also, I wasn't chatting when those errors were fired. Could it be spectator chat could be firing those errors?

No, it might be a custom map using point_servercommand to use the say command, or it might be that one of your configs (like server.cfg) has a line that uses the say command in it, either way this shouldn't be happening. If you use rcon say it would happen as well.
