I have googled a lot about this, and I believe there are very few who face this problem.
So I have Steam and Counter Strike, and I installed amxmodx using the latest auto installer, without installing any additional plugin (default plugins installed)
Whenever I click on Create game, I am immediately blinked to the desktop. No loading screen what so ever. Just goes right out to the desktop.
To create a game normally, I must edit liblist.gam, and remove the line gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll".
My Counter Strike is a freshly installed one, no custom model or anything at all, just my custom userconfig.cfg
So that's obviously an amxmodx/metamod problem.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, with Steam and Counter Strike, up to the latest version.

Not until you're sure that the server ran fine before you installed Metamod.

I have had these issues too. It ran fine without amxx or metamod. But once amxx is put on, it just flashes to desktop. I never tried with only metamod, as I gave up too quickly and just made a LAN HLDS instead.

I recently fixed mine.
I would try to start a LAN server with AMXX installed (no extra plugins) and it would just go back to desktop.
No loading screen or anything.

I uninstalled AMXX from my LAN server and it worked.
I reinstalled AMXX to my LAN server and it worked.

I don't know what was causing it to not work, but it does now.

You need to start at least once a new lan game before installing Metamod. It need's to create (or extract from the .gcf ... whatever) dlls/mp.dll.

The installer will complain if you do not do so.

Didn't knew that, I always installed manually.
