i added the file in the right folders on my servers. now people getting error downloading the sound files. what can i do to fix this? note if i have the file on my pc, the mod works. it just cant be downloaded.

Does anyone know is there any full custom quake sound pack which i can download from internet? I downloaded dark quake, but there are only kill sounds. There arent any teamkill or humilation sounds.Thanks for response.

I think if you look on the ES forums, there is an ES version of this and it has several sound sets cause I have Female, Dark, German, Robot and UT3 sets that Ive collected from various spots and I do believe that most came from that ES script.

Whether they are all "complete" or not, Im not sure but its worth checking out. :)

Hey I just found this plugin, works great, however is there a way to make it so not EVERYONE hears EVERY Headshot kill? ie: just the player who got/received the headshot hears the sound?

It does get annoying after a while, but some of the other sounds are cool.

Is CS:S still supported? I have tried to get the sounds to play for 1 day now. But the client only downloads a few normal sounds and a few female.. and even for those client console said they are not on the disk :S (missing from disk/repository)

If tried sv_pure sv_consitency cl_allowdownloads cl_downloadfilter all, cl_customsounds etc..

But if this project has switched to CS:GO, it would make sense..

Can somebody point me in the right direction? It will be highly appreciated!

ermm... when i kill ppl with knife theres no text saying that i kill using knife but the sound are working all fine... when i kill ppl with knife it said humiliation..
is it normal no text for killing using knife or i need to config it by myself ... if it does can tell me how... thanks.. :fox::fox::fox:

Using this plugin with sourcemod and it is working perfectly, with only one problem:

!settings, !quake or typing quake in console is not bringing up the quake settings menu for anyone on my CS:GO server (!settings just has one setting for something unrelated). Some people want to turn their quakesounds off, and some people want to switch the gender. Anyone know what the problem could be? Is it because I use Mani as well? Any way around this without uninstalling Mani?

Made some minor changes to get this working on CS:GO without requiring music to be enabled. Not the best approach, but it seems to be working.

--Added round start sound (was in a previous version of the css plugin somewhere in this thread)

The zip file contains the proper folder structure, so extract it into your csgo folder.

Mostly all the sounds work in this one, however play.mp3 + headhunter.mp3 and hattrick.mp3 do not.

I get errors like this on those specific ones:


[Sound] S_StartSound(): Failed to load sound '*quake\play.mp3'. Can't create mixer.


Can anyone confirm?

is there anyway to get this plugin work on l4d? It seems the client can't download the sound files from the server. Any way how to fix this?

Do particular sounds take preference over other sounds? E.g. if I get dominating but also knife someone, then dominating is the only sound that plays. Is there any way to change the preference?

hai friend.. I use this plugin. but I have a problem. I play with bots on my dedicated server. but why every bot kill or shoot headshoot. sound of quakesound work too. so, on the server, the sound is very crowded at all. I just want when I kill it sound quakesound work. please, help me master? how to turn off the bot quakesound? I am still newbie :D

hello,

Does anyone know how to turn off the annoying background sounds or music CSGO plays when you get a kill?
When I play Arsenal mode... it sounds like an orchestra with drums playing after each kill.
It interferes with the quakesounds, and I cannot hear them.

Hi Guys, I have installed this plugin and everything went well and it worked very well when I rebooted my server. The problem is it only worked for 1 round. When map switched it stopped and it never worked again. I am probably missing something but I don't know what exactly. (Sorry this may have been responded before but it's hard to go through 78 pages)

I can see the menus and everything, just don't hear anything even if I switch to Female or Regular quake sounds.

Edit : I finally figured my problem, was running sv_pure 1, hade to move pure_server_whitelist.txt to my cstrike folder and add an exception to it.

The latest CS:S update, makes this plug-in crash the client, with no errors server side.
When I remove the line(294): "settingConfig[typeKey][settingKills] = tempConfig;". It stop crashing the client. but I'm not skilled enough to see what's wrong.
after a bid more work. Have I traced the error to line(290): "new settingKills = KvGetNum(kvQSL, "kills", 0);"

I do not believe this plugin is supported widely anymore, however, I do have an update for it. I wanted to use this on a Classic HL2DM server, but it just kinda refused to work correctly. The first problem, one many people have, is that the 'teamkill' sound plays all the time even if you are not playing teamplay.

I simply added a check for the 'mp_teamplay' cvar before it checked the clients' teams and played the sound. The other thing that was fixed was the 'headshot' sound; originally, the HL2DM Quake plugin did not have headshot support, now it does. The thanks for that should go to psychonic, I got the code needed from his SuperLogs plugin! This version of the plugin is '3.0', however, it is ONLY FOR HL2DM! I removed all support for other games ( it annoyed me to have it there ); if you want to fix the 'teamkill' glitch in the other version, simply copy the needed portions and put them in the other one ( very easy ).

Place the quake map in Sound/music/herequake:)
Look the begin page for more info about the location.

- put sm_quakesounds.cfg in cstrike/cfg/sourcemod
- put the generated folder called "quake" in csgo/sound/music
- put plugin.quakesounds.txt in cstrike/addons/sourcemod/translations
- put quakesoundslist.cfg in cstrike/addons/sourcemod/configs
- put the quakesounds_css.smx in cstrike/addons/sourcemod/plugins

Did you reload the plugin?

I've had no trouble changing addons/sourcemod/configs/quakesoundslist.cfg or addons/sourcemod/translations/plugin.quakesounds.txt.

Perhaps you could post your config?

You fixed alot for HL2DM Version and its great that most things work now.
It's just the headshot feature that needs improving as it very rarely works/plays right when you headshot players.
At one point the headshot sound and text displayed when I crowbarred someones head.
Having the trigger go off for only the 357 Mag and shotgun on headshot kills would be alot better. :)

If they did that, it's for a good reason ! if he deleted the file materials, models and sound is that it creates conflicts in the engine due to their change, so they recommend placing custom files in the "custom" folder.

For example, if the manager of a server transfers the old content "cstrike/materials/..." directly in the new "cstrike/materials..." This will create a conflict of original game files will double due to the VPK file !

You fixed alot for HL2DM Version and its great that most things work now.
It's just the headshot feature that needs improving as it very rarely works/plays right when you headshot players.
At one point the headshot sound and text displayed when I crowbarred someones head.
Having the trigger go off for only the 357 Mag and shotgun on headshot kills would be alot better. :)

Sounds should go into custom/<something>/sound/ and should be referenced in your quakesounds cfg as sound/some-sound-name.wav.

Any time I have this is my plugins folder, I cannot connect to the server and must ctrl/alt/del, end CSS on windows task manager, others confirm as well when connecting to my server.

I have narrowed it down to this SM plugin. I am running linux server with

- mmsource-1.10.0-hg832-linux

- sourcemod-1.5.0-hg3832-linux


Any help would be much appreciated!

Hello Guys,

I have been reading this thread and I have added this to our server. However I keep getting the following error -

Failed to load sound "quake\play.wav", file probably missing from disk/repository

and others file errors. Now I do see the files that seem to be downloading, and its everytime a map is changed but I don't see those files anywhere in my CStrike folder.

Our servers sv_pure is set to 0 and I have the sounds files here in the server -

cstrike\custom\mycustomfolder\sound\quake\ all the sound files are here,

the rest of the files are in the respective places, I can see the text, I can also see the !quake menu through chat, but the sounds don't play and show this error. I'd appreciate any help here.

These two new folders are designed for (only) players,
these folders are now also happens to be a server :x, it's better not use them.

- Players install they custom skins in they custom folder
- Players download custom files from server in they download folder.

From server, you install custom files like before SteamPipe conversion, like in my previous post.

Made some minor changes to get this working on CS:GO without requiring music to be enabled. Not the best approach, but it seems to be working.

--Added round start sound (was in a previous version of the css plugin somewhere in this thread)

The zip file contains the proper folder structure, so extract it into your csgo folder.

I just finished installing this to my new Arms Race workshop server with no problem. A few posts down from the one I quoted above (page 74), he also posts an updated Translations file to replace the one in this post's attachment.

Just wanted to give a recent update for anyone who was looking. It was as simple as dragging and dropping the files since they are already broken down by folder. Thanks Warbucks!

In the pure_server_whitelist I added sound\quake\ ... allow_from_disk
Still got the same error so tried changing allow_from_disk to any (even though it's the same thing).

So just for the hell of it turned off pure server and still didn't work, cannot get any sounds to play at all in-game.

The sounds work fine on my tf2 server, they play, download, and are overall a great experience.

A strange problem occurs when I try to get them to download via fastdl. The files download, but they are just not saving on the clients computer.

The only difference I do is add sv_downloadurl to the server.cfg, and load the files up exactly how they are on the local server (tf/download/sound/quake), yet the files download but just don't save on the clients computer, and therefore don't play.

If I removed the sv_downloadurl from server.cfg, the files download straight from the server and work fine.

What's the problem? I don't see how this could be a plugin problem, but more of a steampipe/permissions/incorrect directory problem. I've tried everything I could think of and nothing seems to work.

In my experience, the client won't bother trying to redownload it.

I've only seen three things that would cause a file to keep redownloading:


The file doesn't exist on a fast download server and thus the client is never actually downloading it, but it tries at the start of every map anyway.
sv_pure rules are blocking the file from being loaded on a client. I have no idea why this causes constant redownloading, but it does.
Switching from an sv_pure 1 server to a different sv_pure 1 server with a different pure_server_whitelist will cause the client to use the old whitelist. This may have been fixed in the SteamPipe update as I haven't seen it lately.

My most recent version (2.7foobar3) includes a few changes:
* Fix for headshot detection - it should be more accurate now
* Works with hrcbot's now

I've also sent a message to Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr about whether he's still maintaining this plugin but have not heard back. I'm willing to take over maintenance of the plugin unless any of the plugin authors object.

Does not include configs, but includes sounds and plugin/scripting.

I guess this has been abandoned by its owner too?

I may attempt to make a single plugin with a simple check on plugin load to alter the game types instead of the hundreds of statements i found when fixing the tf2 version xD okay having 5 different versions is fine, but one single one that works for all is much better in my opinion!

I may attempt to make a single plugin with a simple check on plugin load to alter the game types instead of the hundreds of statements i found when fixing the tf2 version xD okay having 5 different versions is fine, but one single one that works for all is much better in my opinion!

Headshot detection seems to be different in every game... HL2: DM, CS:S, and TF2 to name three.

CS:GO requires you to play sounds differently than other games. See: CS:GO Quirks (http://wiki.alliedmods.net/CSGO_Quirks).

Tonight i'm going to attempt to adjust the mod to detect the game and adjust methods accordingly, and if i get that somewhere near completed, i may have a look at doing a CS:GO version, which i will also try incorporate into a single plugin.

Take a look at Saysounds. I believe it has CS:GO support built in. Are you going to put your plugin into source control like github? This would make it easier to collab on.

Currently i haven't had chance to work on this as i've been busy fixing my server, but i have the whole of today to do it, i haven't used github or anything, but i have dropbox if that helps!

Quake Sounds 3 is available!

Okay everyone, i put together a single plugin that combines all source 2009 games into a single plugin.
It compiles fine and the logic is there, everything functions as expected in TF2, but i am unable to test any of the other games. Minor loss of a single part of the DoD:S part of the plugin which i will fix in 3.1 (just some declaration statements went funny because of how it was done before with #define and stuff)

Also shall i make a new post for this?

Please report how this works with games other than TF2!

(check two posts down for latest version - 3.1)

I have finished 3.1, got all parts that were in the previous set of plugins included. I will have a look at CS:GO support for someone who requested it earlier in the thread :)

As always, only the plugin itself is here, you will need to grab the sounds and other cfg (the main one is auto-created as "/cfg/sourcemod/plugin.quakesounds.cfg") from the main post.

I will try get a new thread set up for it (since the old creator seems to have left the planet)

Would you be able to test the "humiliation" sounds when people get knifed to death? Also with different knives? Like the gold knife in arms race. Just in case it triggers a different event :)

Hello, I've added my own custom sounds before and they work fine however the !quake /quake menu does not display at all. Even using !settings and clicking quake does not allow the menu to pop up to show the choices for the sounds or to disable them.

Quake Sounds v3 (https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=224316) is now fully compatible with CS:GO!

You will need to remove any old installations of quake sounds as v3 is quite different :)

Ok I installed this mod on my server and the text comes up but no sounds are played.

The console reads back that it can't find the sound files.

I have checked the sound files on the server and they are fine. I checked the downloads and everything downloads fine.

I tried with sv_pure set to 0, I added in a pure whitelist file even though the server/game never had one to begin with.

I tried the sv_forcepreload 1 command.

I tried it all but I can't get the sounds to play. If anyone can provide some light on this please do as it driving me nuts.

why it keeps saying this to many female sounds when everything is ok, fastdl is ok, sound files are in server too.

Hmm I'm only getting 'TEAMKILLER' and the message when someone has joined my server...

Please can someone advise??

I should add I run HRC Bots and if I kill one of those or they kill me I get the message 'TEAMKILLER'.
How can I turn off this mode please?

In HL2:DM, you still hear 'teamkill' everytime someone shoots someone else when not playing team deathmatch.

Was wonder if I can throw my quakes files in a different directory? I have a NFOservers TF2 Server and they require you to put your download content in a "custom" folder in the tf/ directory.

These Zips are for those who are having issues reading the install instructions for this plugin I even messed up installing it the first time cause it was a bit hard to see the text mainly cause its all one color it should look like this for when your making instructions on installing any plugin

1. Pick one of the attached .sp files based on the game your server runs.
quakesounds_css.sp
quakesounds_dods.sp
quakesounds_hl2dm.sp
quakesounds_tf2.sp

2. Put sm_quakesounds.cfg in cstrike/cfg/sourcemod

3. extract "quake.zip" and put the generated folder called "quake" in cstrike/sound

4. put plugin.quakesounds.txt in cstrike/addons/sourcemod/translations

5. put quakesoundslist.cfg in cstrike/addons/sourcemod/configs

6. compile quakesounds_<game>.sp in the forum by clicking the "Get Plugin" link

7. put the generated quakesounds_<game>.smx in cstrike/addons/sourcemod/plugins

Hope this helps and I wish people will start doing the instructions like I did above would really help out others

I did not know that the Steam-Pipe update changed the location like that still works fine doing it the other way haven't seen any issues with the way I did it

Get yourself updated before posting tutorials...

I've never said it won't work with the old directory, but it may cause some issues sometimes, that's why you should use the PROPER directory (and never say thanks, when someone corrects you, you're right...-.-...).

Here's some other Quake/Unreal some un-used rare sounds. (41 Sounds)

confusion, holograph, invulnerable, ownage, rage, retribution, road warrior, silencer, spin out, totalled, vampire, whirlwind, wrecker, booster, Invisible, Speed, combo king, excellent, extermination, etc

Maybe the plugin can be improved with these extra sounds? Just a idea anyway :)

Hello together,
this Plugin is the only with the right priority for Sounds. IT plays Killsounds instead of headshot - wonderful!

But i have a ffa Server. In the newer Versions of Quakesounds it hava a cvar to Count teamkills as kills for ffa. But in the newer Versions the priority ist bullshit. When you make i.e. a monsterkill with a Headshot it plays headshot Not monsterkill.

Can Simeone add the ffa cvar to this Plugin?
