i have posted this issue of mine at the steam forums but ofcourse no one seems to have a clue....
this just randomly happened like yesterday, i simply just can't connect to any servers and nothing is showing up in my servers tab...i can't connect from the console but if i try it just gets stuck at establishing connection..i could see my fav servers tab from the steam servers tab in the steam client and i could see them up and running just nothing in 1.6 which is weird. cz is working fine and everything else is fine. i tried reinstalling game, steam,..etc nothing solved anything. i thought it might be my anti virus or firwall i tried disabling `em but the problem is still there. does anybody have any ideas where might the issue be?

Disable your firewall in your router
Open ports ( if still neccessary )

Reinstall game ( if still neccessary )

i have tried 1 and 4 but im not stupid enough to do 2 and 3 it use to be working fine and no has touched my firewall on router and the ports...opening them would jsut create problems that i dont want to deal it...either way that wouldnt be the problem because cz uses the same executable to run its just a matter of gcf files between the two games...so it should be something else.

most probably due to version of 1.6... the 1.6 got many versions nowadays,and of course they're non-official...(you can found a lot at internet) these various version were 'hacked' by others cs hard die fans coz they want to make it better & more interesting... sure yours is official? the server browser just show the servers that running the same version of 1.6... (i thought...!)

Close Steam then go to your C:\Program Files\Steam\config folder and delete Masterservers.vdf and serverbrowser.vdf.

Do you use ESET smart security? If so, this is caused by its process named ekrn.exe. Turn on your cs client and then shutdown that process after that try to refresh the server list (note that your internet connection will be gone for ~2 seconds then this process will turn itself on again). This problem was driving me crazy... and answer was no where to be found... Hope this will help you too.
