you dont use the vance code ? vector will give an infinite queue right?

No-- that code required STL. As I mentioned, the older GCC version I used on my Linux box has a bug where it couldn't link STL. It's been painful trying to get a new GCC built in my custom environment so I haven't wrestled with it.
