Hi!

I just want to ask what message you use to retrieve the number of players,
current map and timelimit etc. from a CS 1.6 server with an UDP connection.

I know that earlier it was \xff\xff\xff\xffinfo\0 although this no longer works.
I have been investigating about A2S_INFO but it only seems to work for source.

I don't really expect an answer here but it is definately worth a shot.
The "server protocol.txt" in the HL SDK does not offer any help at all since
protocol changes (new?).

I've only been able to get a response from any server at all with
- \xff\xff\xff\xffping\0
- \xff\xff\xff\xff\0x57\xff\xff\xff\xff
- \xff\xff\xff\xffchallenge rcon\0

EDIT: With A2S_INFO I mean "\xff\xff\xff\xffTSource Engine Query\0"

The Valve Developer Wiki is really helpful with these kinds of things:

Warning:
GoldSource servers (except for HLTV ones?) now report using the same protocol as Source servers. To differentiate between (for example) Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source, or other games with the same gamedir, use the Steam AppId.
Also note the library implementations at the bottom of the page - looks like your using PHP so Steam Condenser may come in handy.
