This is not a sourcemod, or even a metamod problem, but I thought I'd share this since a lot of us like to blame 3rd party stuff first.
In the last update of TF2, the linux version crashes on startup for a lot of people, including me. I tested this by downloading a fresh copy of TF2 over steam on a new computer, and without even configuring it at all, it just crashes on startup there too. I'm running 64-bit Centos 5.2, but there's people using 32-bit debian that report it too, I don't really know but I think it is something specific to a version of glibc installed.

hey, i found if you let it keep restarting, it might eventaully start up correctly.

you can edit srcds_run, and change the crash timeout to 0 seconds, so it restarts immediately after a crash.

let it keep crashing/restarting, and see if it ever starts normally.

me, it took maybe 20 restarts to get it to run.

They are working on it at Valve.

its affecting TF2 and DoDS servers running on Unix OP.

We are waiting for a patch to solve this.

It seems like it also affecting win-servers, but not in the same way, they have problems with team colors...

Quote:
- The team color of the HUD messages does not reflect the current situation,
example: Your are in blue team, you see the attacking HUD message in red!
This happens to all HUD messages like dispensers, team mates and so on.
- The color of Ubercharges flips, red Ubercharge turns to blue color and
vice versa, so players are irritated and try to shoot team members.
