hi. i host a cs 1.6 server with 27 slots on line with 2560 kbps uplink. so with that upload speed, i've set server rate settings based on rate calculator on this site: http://www.reece-eu.net/drekrates.php
when a player connect to the server, i automatically set their rates setting by default to these (or they can adjust these settings to other rates later):
Rate 9000
cl_updaterate 30
cl_cmdrate 40
from players feedbacks, most of them dont have choke problem, choke is at decent rate. but the only problem is when they are shooting/throwing granedes, their latency sometimes spike up abnormally like from 30 to 200 and get kicked out for having high ping.
so how to solve this problem? lower the players Rate?
server comp spec:
