I'm looking for something which can store a 2 dimensional array of bytes in a file, and reconstruct another 2 dimensional array of bytes after reading such file.

read_file

Just store them as one line each and parse them out.

It's better to use the C file natives.
fopen, fputc and fgetc (in your case)
