I'm working on a plugin where I would like to shade the model of a player to be all black. The player would look like a black shadow. I've used the set_user_rendering function before but I don't know if it'll work in this case. Even if it would, I don't know the right "ingredients" to get the result I want since I don't know what all the rendering modes mean.

Any ideas?

Set the skin of the model completely black, I believe setting skins can be done with amxmodx.

Setting models can be done, but I'd rather not do that. I'd have to edit a model, make it black, then everyone who connects to the server running my plugin will have to download it.

Otherwise I can't find a native function that does what you're describing.

set_rendering.
Do it all 0's and it will set it entirely black.

I Would have sworn there was a way to skin models in game. I thought I heard someone talking about that on the forums here...

A. There isnt.
B. Your wrong.
C. Just setting their rendering to 0 is easy enough.

Yeah I realize that, I really don't think I needed your help to come to that conclusion.

keep in mind there are several render MODES to try setting on the player entity. To my knowledge, setting all the 'color' values to 0 does not make the player completely black. in fact, i believe much like the screen fades, it would do absolutely nothing since there is no MODULATE flag that you can put on the player, but then again I havent tested it, either.

Ok, I'll try this, then. But why use set_rendering over set_user_rendering?

And if I use set_rendering, what do I pass as the first parameter?

Consider it payment for the phyco bitch comment.

Code:
		set_user_rendering(Target,21,0,0,0,0,0)
where target is the ID of the target. works for me.
